How to Get the SHA-256 Fingerprint
Obtain SHA-256 fingerprints for debug and release signing certificates.
Your app's SHA-256 signing fingerprint is required to configure Grovs for Android.
Add both your debug and release fingerprints to the Grovs dashboard. Missing either will cause deep linking to fail in that build variant.
Debug Fingerprint
1
Open the Gradle panel
In Android Studio, click the Gradle tab on the right side of the window.
2
Run the signing report
Navigate to YourApp → Tasks → android and double-click signingReport.
3
Copy the fingerprint
In the Run tab output, find the SHA-256 line under the debug variant:
Variant: debug
Config: debug
Store: /path/to/your/debug.keystore
Alias: your_alias
SHA-256: 12:34:56:78:90:AB:CD:EF:12:34:...Release Fingerprint
1
Run the keytool command
Bash
keytool -list -v \
-keystore /path/to/your/release.keystore \
-alias your_alias_name \
-storepass your_keystore_password \
-keypass your_key_passwordIf keytool is not found, make sure the JDK bin directory is in your system PATH.
2
Copy the fingerprint
Find the SHA-256 value in the output and copy it to your Grovs dashboard.
